We love this place.
We usually get the vege combo with chicken shawarma, with a small side of chicken shawarma.
Instead of the tabuleh and falafel, we get labenah.
We order takeout monthly.

They don't have the greatest decor, outdated and in desperate need of a makeover BUT
Food is always fresh. Best fresh cut fries in the GTA, taste like homemade! The lamb kebob is out of this world, tender, juicy, fresh and doesn't taste gamey at all! Service sometimes can be slow and not the greatest, but the food really makes up for it! Try the lamb dinner, vegetarian appetizer combo, you won't be disappointed!
The shish kebab sandwich tasted amazing. It was very fresh. This place is located in a terrible spot though as the bar next door always has a somewhat odd crowd hanging around smoking. I've only been here at night and seen this every time but maybe during the day the location may be more safer. Decor is nothing special. The platters range between $12-20 the sandwiches are decently priced to compete with the other middle eastern places on the lawrence strip nearby.
The Best Middle Eastern food in TO. Their Shawarmas are not fatty but not dry. ENJOY it every time. They also have the best salad and hummus. I suggest they get better tables and furniture however

We recently had bland dishes at another restaurant that advertises itself as Middle Eastern but wasn't so we sought the Armenian Kitchen for authentic Middle Eastern. Mmmm the food was delicious and so tasty. The Hummus was good to start. The Sojok is a kind of spicy meat dish and was superb. We finished with baklava which was heavenly. All this cost us $20 each. The food here is amazing. I say that, even though I only get the 'vegetable combo plate with meat', which is hummous, baba gannoush, falafel, beef or chicken, and tabbouleh. It is enough of a sampling for me to make that judgement. Luckily, they're spending their money on fresh ingredients, and not on interior decoration. If you don't care to sit at a table with a thick see-through plastic covering, and 30 year old looking chairs, then don't go here. And that's a good thing, because there'll be more food for me!
My beautiful girlfriend had the same thing, and she loved it - except that I cleaned my plate and she barely dented it. The portions are LARGE!

This is a restaurant that we keep coming back and we like to tell all our friends about this strip mall "gem". Great food and a wonderful ambiance. Don't ever leave us!

Excellent food - 1st time having "authentic" hummus - service needs some improvement but overall great value. Will definitely go back & try the combos.
Good value, great hummous, friendly staff. We are regulars at "AK", and would recommend it to anyone. Try the "combo platter with meat" if you've never been there...it will give you a taste of all they have to offer. Don't forget to ask for extra hot sauce.
Food is all homemade (sauces, peppers, soups, etc.) and very tasty. Chef/owner is very consistent, and has been at this location for many years. Shawarma is a meal on its own, and if you like a dish with bite, try the spicy fries. Service is friendly and attentive. Great for takeout also.
