I have been to this restaurant about 10 times now over the past 6 months. Some servers suck. Others are great. The food is really good and quick (always). Of course, I have had better rolls at non-all you can eat sushi places. BUT for the price, the quantity and decent service, I love this place. The spicy mayo is AMAZING!!! The sashimi is decent (again, better at other restaurants, but not all you can eat). The black pepper beef is awesome, the edaname is always hot and salted well. Lots to choose from and worth your time. BUT, if you get a horrible server (esp. the one female), don't completely banish the restaurant. Most of the other servers, esp. one of the male servers, are excellant and kind. Hope this helps.
Maison du japon is probably my favourite sushi place ever.... I think that the service was good but not the greatest and the sushi is to die for... i recommend maison du japon to everyone
This place is amazing. Sometimes you get a server who is rude, but on the most part it is great and the food comes so fast.
We have been here previously. Some waiters/waitresses are much more service-oriented than others. Consistently miss ordered dishes but we would just re-order them. Lunch time is better service-wise and a better value for your money.
I agree with some of the other reviewers, the service is not the best at this place. The first waiter who came to help us was VERY RUDE when we asked him to describe some of the rolls we were not familiar with. If they can't find wait staff that are more polite, they would be well-served to put some detail on the menu about how many pieces are in each order, what the ingredients of each roll is and maybe even a picture? Otherwise the place is a real turnoff for people who are trying Japanese food or sushi for the first time since it's very hard to order when you don't know what you're getting. Anyway, the food itself is pretty good. I like Naha sushi in Richmond Hill too- the lunch buffet is sort of the same idea but I found the service to be faster at Maison. Will come back again because the food is good, but with lower expectations for polite and helpful waiters.
