Love Seafood

We look forward to visiting Red Lobster. We love it there. When we go it is always packed. But we figure it is worth the wait. My fiancée proposed to me there, so it it sentimental to me. Overall love it there and I especially love the Garlic Shrimp.

Red Lobster HORRIBLE

My wife and I went to Red Lobster last night and it was horrible. We arrived at 8:15PM and the place was only about 20% full. The server was really LOUD and obnoxious. She looked like she had a drug problem as well. We ordered their flagship Lobster dish at $33 ea. and the broccoli was not cooked ... it was basically wet from a steamer for 10 seconds and raw. To top it off my wifes lobster tail was raw. When we pointed this out to the LOUD server she announced to the restaurant that she would get the manager who came over and took $33 off the bill. The LOUD server then came over and proceeded to get all confused about our meal while, again, annoucing it to the entire restaurant. The whole meal was really sub par considering this would have been a $100 meal. Even if the food was cooked it was prepared terribly. We will not be going back.

The server was nasty and argumentative. We left......

The server was nasty and argumentative. We left! Two of us went to Red Lobster in Barrie for lunch. I ordered the Shrimp Linguine Alfredo which I have ordered many times before. I really like this dish and this is what I almost always order. This time I was not liking it so much . . . the Alfredo sauce was so thick it looked like big glob of wallpaper paste on top of linguine. I asked the server if she minded taking it back to the kitchen and have them thin it out for me so that it was more of a sauce. She was snippy in her reply, she acted as though it was my fault the sauce was thick and gloopy. I apologized to her, saying that I really couldn't eat it the way it was. She at first said there was nothing she could do and that was the way it was served. I knew it wasn't as I've ordered this dish many times before and told her so asking if she would please see if the cook could do something with it to thin it out. She got mad at this, sighing at me. I started to be offended by her attitude and asked her if she had a problem with my request. She she snatched the plate from me and rushed off with it. We were really put off at her attitude and left immediately. There was no way we were going to be subjected to this kind of treatment and I had heard stories of what servers or the cook could do if you made them mad for one reason or another and I wasn't going to take a chance that the server would do something like spit in my plate ... you hear such horror stories and I have a relative who was a waitress and she has told me that many of these horror stories about servers are true and that I didn't want to know what 'really' happens. I don't know why this server was so nasty; I was friendly and my request was a reasonable one. I said "please" but she acted as though I had offended her. Both our appetites were ruined and we ended up grabbing a burger and eating it in the car on the way home. I don't think people like this should be servers in a restaurant. This server not only ruined our appetite and our lunch but also our impression of Red Lobster;. We have heard from friends and neighbours and also on the internet that the Barrie location is a bad one, especially for server attitudes and we have had one bad experience at that location ourselves. This experience was the straw that broke the camel's back. We won't go back there again and are weighing whether we will bother going to another Red Lobster location. This experience left a bad taste in our mouths. No sense complaining to the manager because we did that one time and did not even get an apology. Oh well ... on to other seafood restaurants.

Worst Service Ever, It Was A Nightmare!

My husband and I went to Red Lobster in Barrie, ON once a few years back for a special celebration. We ordered surf & turf; both of us ordered our steaks medium. The lobster arrived without any melted butter so we had to wait ... and wait ... and wait. Both steaks arrived lying in a pool of blood on the plate. I told the server that they were rare rather than medium. We were mortified to see her stick our forks in the steaks, lift them up and mop up the blood with a napkin. She then proceeded to carry the steaks impaled by the forks into the kitchen. Meanwhile we were still waiting for our melted butter and our lobster was now cold. We were also staring at plates containing some blood that the server had missed. The sight of it was turning my stomach. When we managed to get her attention we asked (1) when we would be getting our steaks as well as the melted butter for the lobster and (2) would she please remove the offending plates. This resulted in the manager coming over to ask us if there was a problem. We explained about the steaks & blood issue and the lack of melted butter. He said he would attend to both issues. We waited ... and waited ... and waited. Twenty minutes later we were still sitting there with cold lobster, no butter and still no steak.s We managed to get the server's attention to ask WHEN would the steaks and melted butter arrive and this brought the manager over to our table yet again. He said that the reason it was taking so long was because they were ensuring that the steaks were well done. We said we don't want them well done, we want them medium. Another half hour or more went by and we still had not received the melted butter nor the steaks. We figured we had been patient enough, got up and left. We ended up eating hamburgers; not a nice special celebration huh?..

First Timers to Red Lobster. 1st time eating Sea Food.

This is a review for my wife and my dinner. APPATIZERS: The artichoke lobster cheese dip appatizer was different. GOOD, but an aquired taste i think. The crab cakes were good too. The house salad w balsamic, and ceasar salad were both good as well. The Free Buns, were OK, but not the "crack " I heard them to be. My wifes Ultimate Platter came out luke warm (all the sauces and butters salty) The Lobster tail was tiny, The shrimps were cold. The dish as a whole was mediocre. The Crab Linguini Alfredo was decent. I couldnt really taste the crab. Just a regular pasta with some stringy meat!!! The Fried Scallops were really good. Lightly breaded, great flavor, cooked perfectly. The Coconut Shrimp were really big and delisious(My wife ate them). Actually, we took the leftover coconut shrimp home. As first time sea food eaters, It was overall a Good experience, BUT I wont be going out of my way to go back to Red Lobster or any seafood based resteraunt.
