Shock! Outrage! Don't keep online bookings!

I checked the website and it said they had cars available. Since I didn't trust it, I called to book a car. They told me they had no cars available validating my mistrust. When I asked what would've happened if I had booked online, they told me that they would've called me to let me know I wouldn't have a car but that they would be nice enough to put me on a waiting list. When I told them that this was a ridiculous way to manage a business, they hung up on me. I've been dealing with them for years and love their cheap rates, but in this day and age, for a website to say there are cars available when there isn't is unbelievable!
