I am from the US, and every year since I was little it has been our tradition to eat at the Mandarin when we visit my grandparents. The food is so tasty! We are partial to the chicken balls, but there are many other great dishes to choose from. The Mushroom egg foo yung and mushroom fried rice are also wonderful. The staff is always very friendly and helpful! There are some years we get the chicken balls, put them on ice, and bring them home to the US for my sister for her birthday. They reheat on a cookie sheet well. Our family is a bit crazy about Mandarin, but I would definitely recommend it. The service is great, the food is good and priced well for what you get, and they handle large parties well. Lire plus

My husband and I were excited to learn that they offered dim sum on weekends and we were not disappointed when we went last Saturday. The items we ordered were served quickly, they were hot and most were really tasty. The only thing neither of us really cared for was the BBQ pork buns - which weren't bad, we just found them to be a little too sweet. I recommend the fried "triangle" pork dumplings, they were especially delicious! The atmosphere isn't great but it isn't terrible. I actually appreciated that there was some effort put into the decor (the kimonos as curtains on the booths were a nice touch) but the pine tree air fresheners were a little out of place. The prices were very reasonable, we ate well and left satisfied for $20 (tax and tip in). We'll definitely try their other dishes, and look forward to returning for dim sum. Lire plus

Pembroke is really lucky to have such a full-fledged buffet. Everything is well cooked and unlike some places, doesn't all taste the same. The spicy pork is really spicy and has a fresh taste. The chicken balls have lots of meat and the red sauce goes well with them. If you arrive too early some dishes won't be ready, but when they are ready, the staff keep everything replenished quickly. You won't leave hungry! I LOVE the shrimp skewers! The atmosphere is nice and calm, although it's a little chilly in the winter somtimes. The parking lot can get really full and a bit tricky to get in and out of. The staff are friendly but the need to interact is minimal in a buffet restaurant. The one lady always says "Enjoy your meal" even when there's no meal in front of you, and sometimes when you're paying and leaving. Lire plus

The food here is so delicious. The menu is huge! All the dishes taste really fresh and the "bubble tea" is amazing! I forget what I ordered exactly, but it was spicy cripsy chicken on top of noodles. It was excellent. They also have the deep-fried standards like chicken wings, rice, and chicken balls. Anyone remember the chicken balls at Cresent Gardens? These are the closest that I've tasted to that recipe. I love the atmosphere! There's always karaoke music playing in the background, and the floors and tables are spotless. The little asian lady always has an interesting story to tell. All in all, although a bit expensive this restaurant makes great food, has a nice atmosphere. I'll be back! Lire plus
