We placed the order at noon and specifically asked to be delivered at 5:30pm. I waited and called them at 5:40pm. The girl picked up and said "the driver will deliver your food soon." What?! Didn't we ask sushi to be delivered at 5:30pm? At this point, all the guests had been waiting. 6:20pm: still no news from the driver, so I called again. At 6:45pm, I was informed that the driver could not find the place. I ended up picking him up at a nearby place. ~7pm, we finally got the sushi. :(
This place is a bit pricy but the food is from the best sushi around and the wait is no more than a fair 25 min during which you should have already received an appetizer. It is not a very large place and since the food is good it is always busy so quite normal to need a reservation in advance. No need to diss the wonderful staff and "bearded" owner.
Excellent sushi pour les amateurs comme moi. ambian sympa et le monde est courtoi ! MErci encore !
As you enter Yakimono Sushi, the appearance is quite delightful and everything seems to be quite relaxing and exciting. However if you do not have reservations, you may have to wait up to 1 hour to be seated since it is very narrow and there are a limited amount of tables. Once seated, a young busy waitress comes along to take your order and offer you drinks but once you realize what you've just gotten yourself into, it may be a little hard and embarrassing to get yourself out of the situation. The average wait time is minimum 1 hour (no jokes) and once your order has been placed with the waitress, you can forget about asking her for anything else since you wont be seeing her again for a little while. The food is good but its not worth the extra long wait and awful service. Basically, if you wish to spend a long night with your wife/husband, friends or loved ones and make a few large holes in your pocket(s) (15% tip already included on bill of an already overpriced menu and dirty looks by a bearded grizzly looking owner if you do not tip on-top of the already included tip) then Yakimono Sushi is the right place to go.
