Friday night fish and chip special was very good the fish had a nice crispy outer layer while the inside was soft and moist,not dry,giving it a great taste. The service was quick and friendly. The French onion soup was not your traditional baked onion soup but had a slice of cheese layed across the top of the bowl. The soup tasted good with a good mix of croutons,cramelized oinions,green oinions in a beef broth.
It has been 20 years since I visited the DH and it will at least that before I return. This place is a mess. It took forever for our food to arrive (since the cook was out talking to the waiter so long), and when we finally got our meal, the fish was literally dripping with grease. The cornbeef was terrible, was cut way too thick. I purchased two Groupon coupons, and literally gave the other one away when we were there, so we did not have to return. Terrible terrible terrible is all I can say.
There were four of us that strolled in on a week night to take in some late night grub after a show. The waitstaff was friendly and more than helpful, allowing us to order right down to the last minutes of the open kitchen. The decor is all around pub with the expected beer logos dangling here and there. I have always found it clean and overall a welcoming place. I was new to the area, the barmaid was fantastic, welcoming, chatty and made me feel right at home. Food was wholesome and the atmosphere was welcoming, reminded me of places back in the UK. Excellent, well done DH!
We are regulars on Wednesday nights to enjoy Kenneth MacLeod and his awesome band. It's a great night of fun listening to the tunes and catching up with friends. Staff are friendly and easy going. It's a great laid back place to hang out.
My friends and I frequent the DH -- for the atmosphere, the entertainment, the service, the menu and (of course) for the drink.
These guys couldn't be doing a better job. The decorum is, at best, tacky -- but in a strange way, that just adds to the Dominion House's homey appeal. The all-local entertainment is welcoming (go on a Wednesday night -- good times all around), and the staff is always friendly. It's nice to see owners who aren't afraid to dive in and help out on the floor, who are personable and seem to always remember a face. The menu is broad, but consistently well-prepared and delicious -- I recommend either the Reuben or the Steak & Guinness Pie, my personal favourites. The drink selection is excellent, both with respect to beers and liquor, and the bar staff is always willing to accomodate.
I plan to continue to visit this place for years to come. Good job, guys.

Windsor's best, original pub (1878!). Great menu and drink selection. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. This is the ideal spot to meet friends over drinks or a comfortable spot to watch the game. Service is always friendly. Menu is good, affordable and delicious.
Call your friends and tell them to meet you at "The Ditch (DH)". You'll have a good time!

A group of us go here often. The food's almost always delicious, the service is good and the beer is cold. They have a great selection. I love the atmosphere...it's perfect for just hanging out with a group of friends.
The atmosphere alone is worth it, but the food is amazing and the bar selction is great, if you're a fan of old style pubs this is a must visit. It's the kind of bar i could see myself hanging out at all the time
The menu has a nice mix of pub fare, with good portions at affordable prices, and an appropriate selection of beer and liquor. The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and clean. The DH has a genuine historic charm, and was a perfect place for lunch.

We went for lunch and when we walked in we were surprised with how dirty it was. The place was empty but it took us a while to find a clean table. The bathrooms were worse than the dining area for cleanliness. The utensils were stained & dirty and we had to ask for cleaner utensils a couple of times. The soup was served cold, and was sent back 2x and still came out luke warm at best. The fish and steak sandwich tasted good at the time but later that day two of us were ill from the food - I don't know if it was from dirty utensils or from preservatives in the food. We WILL not go back.
