Fresh, family, local! This is the mantra that drives the business and service that is Patty & Franks. The gourmet burger and hot dog restaurant, which opened its doors in October 2013, credits itself with providing fresh and locally grown and made products to its customers. Vasilios Andreopoulos and his business partner, Danny Samia, opened the restaurant out of the need to bring back the old traditions of fresh-cut fries, homemade onion rings, burgers and hot dogs to the palates of Torontonians. Vasilios and Danny felt that people were getting sick of all the frozen food, preservatives and additives that are placed in foods today.
Patty & Franks boasts an open-style concept, giving customers the opportunity to see how their food is being prepared. In addition to that benefit, Vasilios and his business partner feel that with this concept, they can interact better with their clientele — something Vasilios does very often, pausing in the middle of a sentence to greet or converse with a customer.
Vasilios’ family has a long history in the restaurant business and through this he developed a love for food. He also loves interacting with others and putting a smile on people’s faces, and the restaurant allows him to combine those two passions. “One thing you learn in life is you want to do something that you’re passionate about, and food is a passion of mine,” he says.
