the service ruined the experience, i asked for no meat in all dish's, and no mushrooms, and 3 dishes came back with pork and mushrooms in the chop suey. They completely ignored our requests, and my mother who is vegetarian couldn't eat most of the food.
Restaurant isn't fancy, parking is difficult but the food and price is good.
I get takeout from here all the time. I think (and I've heard) that this is the best Hakka in Toronto. I always, always get the Crispy Ginger Chicken (you have to ask them to hold the MSG) and usually get some fried rice and Chop Suey to go along with it. All great. It's cheap (under ten per dish) and they're always nice, but I can't really comment on the ambiance. I only ever get takeout.
I have ordered delivery twice and take out once. I did not like it. I've tried so many things and I cannot say I am happy. Their chicken pakoras are kind of wet on the inside, and they don't taste right. Their noodles and rice (manchurian and not) just lack some flavour. They people are nice, they provide good service but the food does not do it for me.
Only ever gone here for Hakka food and it's always been great, especially the seafood pakoras and the injeera (if I am spelling it correctly), beef. Delivery has been no problem either, as they have delivered a little bit out of area for us at no extra cost/time expense.
We ordered delivery. While it arrived quite fast, all the dishes were barely warm. The "spicy" beef wasn't remotely spicy- rather oversalted and the sauce lacked flavour. The chicken wasn't bad, the bok choy was cooked to a decent crispyness. Again, the chicken lacked flavour, the sauce was clumpy and MSG laden- the stuff one expects from a $4.99 Chinese Lunch buffet. We were very disappointed, though to give them credit, the spicy egg rolls were amazing, if we ever order from there again, our order will be entirely composed of them.
Slow Service, rude, overpriced food. food very greasy
What to eat - The Hakka Menu is superb (v.popular in Bombay). We have been regulars for years - they have maintained the standard, quality of food and portion sizes. They accomodate individual spice levels and vegetarians can request the same dish to be prepared w/o meat. The washrooms are also kept very clean! Good variety of lunch specials for $6. We love to hang out for Indian beer and appetizers. Great option for eat-in (pleasant ambience) or take-out. Both Anthony & Sandra are warm and friendly hosts.
