Originally opened in 1971 at Parliament and Wellesley, Bumpkins now sits at its current location on Gloucester Street in a converted mansion. Tucked away on a quiet residential street, the neighbourhood restaurant has a strong history as a popular destination for local diners. The multi-purpose space also caters to larger groups, corporate events and private dinner parties.
With a cozy-yet-elegant atmosphere, Bumpkins is a favourite among Toronto politicians and high profile diners but still remains a comfortable, welcoming place for neighbouring residents. The entire restaurant was renovated in 2012 and now features a large, sophisticated dining room adorned with crystal chandeliers and a marble fireplace. The front lounge space is marked with cozy armchairs and is designed as a separate area to enjoy a cocktail before or after dinner.

Excellent. We went late on a thursday night and had the whole place to ourselves, so romantic and the service was second to none. The owner himself served us and did I mention the service was impeccable? Wonderful experience. Appetizers, filet mignon and wine came to about 150 for the two of us plus a healthy tip. Go ahead and treat yourself!
from the moment we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly staff that made us feel special-a pleasantr blonde girl greeted us as well as anyone we passed while going to our table --our server Daveed was outstanding in his manners and suggestions and his choice of words to describe some items had a fabulous flair--we found the prices very resonable for the 5 star service we received. In our party of 4 each person enjoyed their selection and we will be back very soon. The atmosphere is warm and so is the staff- I would highly recommend this to all my friends and anyone reading this!!

Bumpkins was where we chose to host our wedding rehearsal dinner, and it was fantastic! The private room was lovely; the table settings were beautiful, and the service was - as always! - impeccable. Our families and out-of-town guests were very impressed. we actually had 25 guests, and we were managed with seemingly no trouble at all. The food was delicious; we were able to customize a prix-fixe menu that made everyone happy. With all the rush and hassle of wedding planning, being able to relax about one big thing was wonderful - Angelo made all the arrangements, and I didn't have to lift a finger. It was a perfect evening!!
This fine French cuisine is an amazing family experience. The food is incredible! My favorite are the famous escorgos they serve in a butter and garlic-cheese sauce...just delicious. Its located downtown Toronto, so the location is perfect. It's close to the entertainment, however, still keeps its peace. This is a perfect celebration restaurant is highly recommended in my family!
I love this restaurant. The food, atmosphere and service are all amazing and I would defintely return. I would also highly recommend Bumpkins to anyone. The area is also nice because is it conveniently located downtown, yet tucked away on a cute side side street. The quality of food is wonderful, I can't wait to return!
My husband and I had Bumpkins recommended to us by a co-worker when we visited Toronto. We were truly impressed by the food and the service. I work in the hospitality industry - I see a lot of restaurants, and this is one of the nicest I've been to. The staff are friendly, attentive without being overbearing; service is prompt; the atmosphere is so relaxed... it's a beautiful night out! I look forward to my next visit.
im sorry to say, but my experience wasnt the best. i walked into the restaurant, and it was beautiful. the service was not bad, and i was looking forward to ordering food and eating....excpet, when the waiter came and poured water into our glasses and left, there were little weird flies in our water, which was disgusting, and totally unexpected from a restaurant like this. we grabbed our stuf and headed for the door.
