Horrible experience! Chauvinists, they ignore the woman when speaking to us as a couple. After many emails back and forth, in an effort to have their expert installer come to the house for an estimate, we were forced to leave work early to accommodate this installer. He did not show up at the appointed 3:00pm time! I called the Manager letting him know the installer did not arrive, he had no idea why the installer did not show up.No follow up call from them to us to reschedule. Waste of our time

I wanted to try a local company and they certainly didn't disappoint. From their knowledgeable staff who were very helpful in helping me choose, to the delivery and install. I have completed 3 separate projects now using this store and would highly recommend them

I am so glad I saw this shop on the way to home depot. They have a great selections and the prices are so good too. I had a problem which one I should choose but Jim gave us a few suggestions. That certainly helped a lot. We chose engineer wood and he even offer to come to my house to inspect and measure my floor. Once we ordered it, everything went smoothly. The installation guy was also superb. He did it so fast and the end result came out perfect. I really love my house now. Thank you!

A terrible experience, a waste of time and money

Awful. Just awful. After researching numerous hardwood flooring installers, Markham Flooring seemed to get good reviews and the prices were reasonable. However, when they showed up over SIX hours late on a day I took off work for the install I was beginning to question their business practice. I was even more upset when the installers stayed until 10 pm since I was basically trapped in the basement. After the installation was complete I began to notice many things that were done poorly and without any care. Uneven boards, HUGE gaps between the floor and the wall, and some poorly chosen boards. They also destroyed my staircase railing. To my biggest surprise, the subcontractor asked US for payment the following day. He even had the nerve to tell us we owed him TWICE that which were quoted from Markham Flooring. They are obviously not too bright or mistook me for a fool because based on the installation rate per square foot it was impossible to owe him as much as he claimed because I could calculate the exact square footage installed by counting the number of cases they used. After a number attempts to have some repairs, I waited on a Saturday morning for Markham Flooring to come back - yet again - to fix problems left by a rush job installation. I felt some reassurance as I explained my case to the manager at the Ottawa location and he assured me he would personally oversee this. I even called two days before to confirm and it was a go. To no surprise, they didn't show up. I called the manger and left a message but didn't even get a return phone call. If this is how the manger personally handles all his clients I think he needs to review his tactics as I have received better customer service from a wall. I can't begin to explain how frustrated we are. I don’t know how the Markham flooring is run in Toronto but the Ottawa location: brutal.
