Rainbow Restaurant Oshawa est un établissement chaleureux. Au menu une variété de hamburgers, dans une gamme de prix allant de 11$ à 25$. L'accès est aisé par voiture, ainsi que par transport en commun.
I am a regular customer at the Rainbow for many years now and the food is made by real people. Not the conveyor belt type food that comes out of a lot of places these days. I love seeing a place that doesn't get complacent. The new menu they have put out puts fast food to shame. If you are on a diet, don't bother going but if you love to eat check out the OBSCENE food section on the menu.
Menu was just recently updated with additional meals added. Having travelled extensively throughout North America, visiting independent restaurants, The Rainbow rates right in there with the best of them. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show comes to mind! I've been dining here since 1975 and have always met pleasant staff and had a great meal. Good value for your money!
Early last Friday evening my wife and I stopped by for a meal. For a place that promotes "fresh" I'm thinking they should check the definition. The onion rigs were "hard" and the waitress confirmed our suspicion... FROZEN. Fish special... frozen. The fries looked hand cut but were not very fresh tasting. All this plus one of the "hefty" cooks spent a lot of time showing off and flirting with the new waitress.
The review below was the reason I tried the Rainbow. The food was good, great value, and great service. I will definitely go back, however based on the breakfast I had and a scan of their full menu, I wouldn't say this is the kind of place you would see on a food show.
The menu was basic diner fare, with no really distinguishing signature dishes to speak of, and there was no evidence that the food was made from scratch to qualify it as being TV-worthy (example: the baked beans were most certainly canned).
Make no mistake, this place is worth visiting, but I wouldn't expect Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives to be shooting there any time soon.
A no nonsense place in this franchise-ridden world. Nice to know its there when I'm really hungry and don't want to have to get a second mortgage to go out to eat.
