Owner Sam Hashmat prides himself on providing quality dry cleaning and alteration services. In business since 2001, his east Mississauga shop boasts a reputation for delivering reliable results efficiently and in a comfortable environment where customers feel at ease. “I have been totally friendly with customers,” says Sam. No matter how busy he is, he can often be seen hurrying from the back of the store or jumping off a stool at the sewing table to greet customers, many of whom are so familiar to him that a friendly conversation surrounds their in-store experience.

Greeting customers with a smile comes as easily to Sam as stitching up clothing, something he’s been doing since he was 10. “My mom used to sew some stuff at home,” he says, referring to his native Afghanistan. “She used to sew our clothes and our uniforms.” Sam took an interest in the hobby, moved to Canada in 2001 and turned his passion into a career. He worked as a regular employee in the shop before he was offered the chance to become its owner and manager.
