I work downtown and go to Nooners a lot. I always order the same thing, a Chicken Feta with Poached Chicken and no bread, because I have a gluten allergy. And without fail everytime they will serve it to me with bread ontop. I tell them its for an allergy and they are always snarky and say "just pick it off". Today my salad came with bread and breaded chicken. The team at Nooners should slow down and work on getting orders correct, rather than pushing everyone through the line.
I get lunch at Nooners several times a week and have done so for at least 10 years (usually take-out). The food is always delicious - very fresh and homemade. Their soups and sandwiches are especially good (and the cookies....). I find the staff are always friendly, know regular customers by name (and their usual orders) and are very efficient despite the large number of people who are there for lunch every day. I do not think there is a lunch place anywhere else in London that can match Nooners for quality, speed and value.
Working downtown, I have plenty of co-workers that regularly visit Nooners for lunch, everytime I visit I have yet to experience any inconsistencies with the place. Whats consistent? Amazing, authentic, home cooked meals. Amazing prices( I cannot stress how good the prices at this place are for the quality of food you receive). The most unpleasant service, not just one bad trip there, all the times i have been there i have yet to be asked how my day has been ( with the exception of the young man at the cash register.) I am always quickly asked what it is that I want (asked = barked) after i place my order I make my way down the line where I am finally greeted with a smile by the cashier, a quick smile because the poor guy than quickly has to leave his post because he is being yelled at to grab somebody else's food. When he returns he acts as though it hasn't phased him and comes right back with a smile. A smile that is returned when I am more than pleased to see what the total of my lunch has came out to, including a drink! I don't know what it is about the line, but with such good, hearty, home cooked meals you would think the service would be the same, smiles, friendliness, feeling like home!
I just got back to my office after a VERY stressful lunch at Nooner's. While I will agree that the food is generally good, the service is NOT. These women are not friendly nor accommodating during their peak periods and leave their customers feeling rushed, stressed out and hurried. I can certainly agree that they are hardworking and busy, but their lack of customer service will leave me going elsewhere next time I want to go out for lunch. Take a moment ladies, calm down and appreciate the customers who take their 60 minutes to come to your establishment to enjoy a nice 'home cooked' lunch....service with a smile is always the way to go.
I work at an office building downtown with only 1/2 hour for lunch. Nooners has always been fast food that is fresh and natural tasting, not the "out of a box" stuff you receive almost everywhere. My sandwich was on fresh muligrain bread and was delicious. The soup was caulilower curry and I wanted to lick the bowl. I frequent Nooners weekly and am always satisfied. the lineups are quick and so is the service. Not always the friendliest but efficient.
We have been regular customers at Nooners, and usually the service is'nt that great but the quality of food is reasonable, and reasonably priced. Unfortunatly my most recent experience has left me awed at the way customers are treated in the food industry. I apologize I felt like my business meant something, obviously not. Watching them yell at one another left for a frightening experience where I felt helpless. When a second cashier came to help the first, she was greeted with "i dont need your help" when clearly she did. The children they had bringing down the food were both slow and terribly confused. The decor was outdated beyound belief, with all those customers one would think the place would have a fresh paintjob every couple of years. Overall I would never suggest this place for anyone who isnt prepared to deal with stress and hostility.
My girlfriend and I meet for lunch here quite often and we both agree that the food is great and very fresh! The staff is friendly even though they are BUSY BUSY and how do they remember multiple orders like they do. It amazes me. I hear them call some of their customers by name and remember their regular orders and I know in time they will also get to know us because we will definately go back there on a regular basis. Keep up the great work ladies!!
Although I have not actually gone into the restaurant before, my several experiences with Nooners by way of enlisting their catering services has always been extremely positive. The food is always delicious, the service over the phone as well as the service from the delivery staff are always top notch. Nooner's has definitely become our office's caterer of choice whenever we are in a position to need to host any lunchtime events. Keep up the great work!
I got all the way back to work with my "to-go" BLT and there wasn't any bacon on it... Took it back (which I did not have time for) and the woman opened it up and slapped two pieces of bacon on the cold toasted bread with 2 bites out of it. Didn't even ask me if I wanted a new one! Service with a smile (not)!
Asked politely for a BLT (standard fare, one would think) as I had ordered it twice previously. Server responded to me with, "Is it on the board?" I didn't know, I'm not the one working there! As the server appeared irrationally annoyed with me, I responded with a sincere, "Oh, I'm sorry". She replied, "If it's not on the board, we don't have it". I suppose on my previous 2 visits there it just happened to be a coincidence that they were serving BLTs. I didn't realize that a BLT was such an exotic request. The unfortunate thing is, this same employee had, on my previous visit, yelled down the cash line at me to advise me that I mumbled my toast preference to her, so she couldn't make my sandwich until I clarified. This resulted in about a 20 minute wait (standing) for my "to-go" order. On today's trip, however, I decided her day must be going horribly wrong and thought I'd save her some trouble by ordering, "Whatever sandwich special you have on THE BOARD - on white please". The unfortunate thing is, the somewhat sad looking generic ham and cheese on a kaiser that I received, was not altogether bad (though not outstanding either). Unfortunately, the way I am treated in this establishment as a customer has tainted any gastronomical experience to the point where, despite working within a 1 block radius of it for the last 8 years, I will never return. If one day, however, I am feeling compelled to have someone treat me with outright disrespect and degredation, Nooners may well be my choice for lunch again.
When you order the chicken ceaser salad the chicken is breaded and it looks like it is from a box. The salad was good but not the chicken And it was expensive
