The Sleepless Goat Café

we heard about this restaurant through the newspaper- a local politician frequents the place- he says. So we decided to try it out. Well- we had no problem with the cafeteria stye set-up- it is just fine by us, ordered our food, found a table and sat down. Wrong order to do things though- should have gone to the bathroom first- always judge a restaurant and/or hotel by the bathroom said a very wise person (mother in law) and she is right. I will say we both had good food BUT did staff wash their hands is all we could think about and OMG the restaurant floors and tables are sooooo dirty. Maybe it is a youth hangout- so what- clean it up!! and just because it's vegetarian doesn't mean you bring the garden right into the restaurant. Clean it up!!! Maybe we will come back- it could be a great place but it isn't Most of the reviews are negative- too bad. But Kingston does have many good and clean places so we will go there

On-again, off-again love affair

I have been going to the Goat for many years now, and I can literally say that whenever I visit, I don't know what to expect. The food varies from outstanding to mediocre, the service from friendly to zombie-like, and the cleanliness occasionally lapses. Some of my fave items have also, sadly, gone, like the pakoras I used to love. Next time I'm in Kingston, I'll read the recent reviews to see how the Goat is faring... and base my decision to drop by on that.
