We went to Atomica on a weekday for lunch and got a seat by the window. The decor is really unique and we could see how the place could easily fill up and become very loud since it is all one big room (plus a patio). Thankfully, it was very quiet during the hour we were there (11:30ish) since it was so early in the day.
The server was very professional, attentive without being pushy.
The funghi pizza was apparently very good but my dining companion said that a big-box store carries a frozen one that is even tastier. I created my own with spicy tomato sauce, pulled chicken, feta and roasted red peppers, which was very nice.
Overall, the quality is good and the price is a little high but it's a nice occasional dining out venue and they support local growers, which is appreciated.
We decided to visit Atomica after being disappointed with another restaurant on the same block. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really interesting, the lights behind the bar change colours very slowly, it is cool. The servers are very kind and courteous. We ordered two pizzas, and they were each perfect for our palates and a great serving too! The only thing that I didn't like was that there was no complimentary bread at the beginning, I would have liked that. The gelato is also very good, it tasted authentic, I would have hoped that there was more of the gelato considering it cost $8. The service was a bit slow at times, and it wasn't even that busy. It took about 15 minutes for the gelato to come out, so we weren't too impressed with that. However, the food itself is good and the servers are nice. Would definitely come back!
Cannoli was tasty and fresh. Not the best as indicated and by the way, I was wearing my Italy jacket...hellooo and it is very obvious I am italian..lol..
We had to wait 10 mins on patio before we were acknowledge ..so I lit a smoke and the server came running out all freaked out..as I predicted!!!
We've been at Atomica a few times since summer. The first time we ordered paninis (vegan + non) and were disappointed as both were scant in the actual ingredients/ spread between the slices of bread- and I mean super scant!
Luckily that did not deter us from coming back - the patio is really nice and was the main instigator for the return to try another dish. On our second visit we tried pizzas and antipasto which were super! The pizza sizes are huge and taste great! Again, depending what people order, one may be disappointed: example the bruchetta tastes good but it's way too small - 3 bite size, better option may be to get a caesar salad or one of their tasty soups. I have to give them kudos for having a vegan dish alternative other than salad - but perhaps they could expand on that and carry vegan pizza ingredients too (aside from veggies of course).
i like this little spot, its not anything i would normally rant and rave to my friends, but it is on my routine of places to go and eat. the pizza is Neapolitan style, very thin crust, sparse cheese and toppings, but usually delicious.
