I have been visiting Sushi Mountain for just over 2 years now and I have never had fresher sushi anywhere in Toronto. My husband and I love going for their all you can eat option, which at other places usually isn't so great.
I find the white tuna at SM to be some of the best I've ever had (I was very disappointed with my experience in Yorkville after visitng SM). Their tempura has always been fresh and crisp, the handrolls are usually packed with fresh fish and their sushi and sashimi are always freshly made and really flavourful. I've never experienced some of the things that other reviewers have mentioned like bad mayo, etc...
The restaurant is usually very quiet even when it is packed with people. The service is fine and the restaurant is typically very clean. There is lots of parking as it is in a strip mall and usually no line up.
I would definitely recommend trying this place if you haven't yet.
Love this place and the owner is really nice! Fresh food all the time!! You can all the sushi you want and it's so tasty!!! They keep it clean as well. GO! You'll love it!!
have been going to mountain for 2+ years now. I really enjoy their sushi. The atmosphere can be hit or miss sometimes when they put me beside the babies, however, that isn't their fault. The only thing is they have to change their music, i had been listen to that for 2+ years. Sometimes they forget some sushi but that is expected at AYCE sushi places.
Their Udon soup is the best I have had.
My family and I usually come here, and have been since it opened. We were always in awe with the atmosphere, the service, but most of all, the food.
Today was different, and I think after today, I will not be coming back again.
The fish was not fresh, and the mayo in the spicy sauce didn't taste right. While I was cleaning up after yakking in the bathroom, I overheard two women discussing how the food wasn't as good as before. The same thought had crossed my mind.
Not sure what happened, but I'm really disappointed with Sushi Mountain now.
I love this place. I don't go very often, but when I do go, I know exactly what to expect.
I've heard people complain about buffet prices, being charged for dinner when they arrive for lunch, this has never happened to me, I make sure I get there well before "dinner-time" ends and I also make sure the server know it, this will avoid hassles.
