The word Teppan (鉄板) is derived from Japanese which means hot iron plate. Teppan-Yaki refers to food cooked using a hot iron plate. Since its introduction in 1945, Teppan-Yaki quickly gained popularity in Japan, Korea and China. Contemporary Teppan-Yaki is a fusion of Japanese and Chinese cuisine: fresh seafood or vegetable skewered and placed on a hot plate with another hot plate pressed on top. This method of cooking evaporates excess liquid and preserves the freshness and the texture of food.

Cola Chicken Wings
First documented around 10th century, Liangfen is bean starch jelly. It can be found in Korea called "Muk" and in Japan called "Konnyaku". Much like tofu, Liangfen is tasteless by itself and is easily shaped. This made Liangfen a good companion with almost everything. Contemporary Liangfen has two main preparation method - Hot or Cold. Hot liangfen is popular during winter and cold Liangfen is popular in summer.

Asian rice noodle was invented around 300 A.D. in ancient China as a substitute for wheat flour noodles. War refugees fleeing to southern China craved wheat flour noodle while climate in southern China is too hot to grow wheat. As an alternative, rice was ground into powder and rice powder was used to make noodles. Contemporary rice noodle are much like pasta that has a lot of names depending on its thickness and shape.
