Andrea Nelson never thought she'd own a café with her best friend, Natasha Romero, until, all of a sudden, she did. The friends jumped at the chance to open Anchor Eatery in 2013 when a rare vacancy came up in West Vancouver, the bakery space inside the Bean Around the World on Marine Drive.
Neither Andrea nor Natasha had experience owning a business. But that didn't stop the pair from diving in head first. "We knew West Vancouver didn't have much in terms of health food or even a juice bar," she says. The bakery space became available and the rest – founding a cozy café specializing in health food – is history.
