Since 1999, Teddy Bear Daycare has been owned and operated by North Vancouver local parent and ECE qualified professional, Kristin Burris. The daycare offers a loving and supportive environment and play-based program for children up to the age of five to practice lifelong skills and develop friendships and meaningful experiences in preparation for kindergarten.
“We feel children learn best through play; while they are playing they develop socially,cognitively, emotionally, physically and creatively,” says Kristin. “We recognize that all children are unique; the biggest thing they are learning is how to be themselves in a group setting -whoever that is going to be.”
Boasting a very low turnover of its ECE qualified teaching staff, Teddy Bear Daycare prides itself in its ability to offer the local community trusted and reliable daycare services. “We are very fortunate that all of our staff has been here for a really long time, so we have really strong ties to the community and the families,” says Kristin.
“This allows us to offer a very consistent program so the children can really flourish. It’s these lasting relationships that give them the confidence and positive sense of self to try new things. We know them so well that we are able to challenge them when needed and support them when needed.”
