“I have been doing this for thirty years,” says Tammy Beekham, the owner of Whyte Avenue Hair Company. “This is not a job. It’s my life and I love it.” In 2000, this location came to life and continues to thrive as a trendy, clean and professional 1,700 square-foot salon. With competitive prices and excellent customer service, it attracts a diverse adult clientele.
Tammy has a staff of eight, offering customers over 80 years of combined experience. More so than most salons, the stylists at Whyte Avenue Hair Company are motivated by Tammy to stay aware of the current trends in hair colour and styling. This is partly because Tammy organizes staff training sessions on Mondays when the salon is closed, in addition to larger education-focused excursions outside of Canada to learn about hair trends on the cutting edge of fashion.
Tammy also has an instructor from Edmonton's Marvel College on staff, which makes it even easier to teach current techniques to students. “She is a fantastic resource for my staff,” Tammy remarks with a smile.
I've never received such tacky customer service in my life! The stylist complained about perms the whole time while i was getting mine dome and then told me that none of the other staff wanted to take my appointment so she would. To top this off I told the manager about this and she didn't seem to see the problem. Also they charged me $30 more than they quoted. And I know what you're thinking, I did not complain until after I paid. If you like being bullied by a whole body of staff and paying more for what could potentially be an eighties perm then go right ahead and give these folks a call.
