Danny Handous and barber Khaled Elsayud were both born in Lebanon but it wasn't until they moved to Canada that their paths first crossed.
“My mother is Canadian and my father Lebanese, so the plan for them was to eventually move here,” says Khaled, who came to Canada at the age of six. “I started cutting hair when I was in high school, and I dreamed of opening a barber shop in Edmonton." In pursuit of his dream, Khaled sought formal training at Mr. Barber School.
Danny was four when he moved to Canada. He spent some of his childhood in Brazil before moving to Edmonton in 2000, where he met Khaled, his next-door neighbour. Eager to open his own barbershop, Danny chose a location on Jasper Avenue and started his business in 2015. A couple of months later, Khaled approached him about working there. The two friends and business partners have been cutting and styling hair together since 2006.
