Since 1978, Galleria Inglewood (formerly known as Galleria Arts & Crafts) has provided a venue for local artists to sell and promote their work. The consignment arts and crafts store began in a tiny outlet on 10th Street NW before moving to Memorial Drive for a short time, and then onto Kensington where it stayed until 2008. From there, it moved into its current and largest gallery space yet.
“The whole basis of the store has always been promoting Canadian artists,” says Susan Copley. And she should know – she's worked in the store since 1982. In 2005, she and her husband Dean Moss purchased Galleria and in 2008 moved it to Inglewood, when they changed the name to Galleria Inglewood.
Susan is committed to maintaining the business's success. “There are so many individuals creating and innovating, they deserve a chance to be able to sell their artwork in whatever form they like.”
